OK, I know it’s been awhile, but it is my personal goal this year to update you guys more regularly. So much has happened since my last post, that it’s almost embarrassing to even write again at this point! Nevertheless, the main things I’m excited to share about are:
1. We’re almost finished with our home study! Just a couple more meetings, and then we *get to* work on our dossier. Yay!
2. Our adoption yard sale was a success! It was our first time doing our own yard sale, so we didn’t know what to expect. We raised about $2550, which I’m told is pretty good! One of the best parts was the conversations we had about adoption with complete strangers–how one couple’s grandson was also adopted from China; how one lady was adopted herself; and how several others knew of someone who has adopted or is adopting. I was blown away by the generosity of those who donated above and beyond what the yard sale items were worth, simply because they knew it was for a good cause! Thanks to all the families who donated items for the yard sale, and for our family and friends who helped make everything run smoothly.
3. Our photo mini sessions fundraiser also went very well! Phillip and I photographed some awesome families and after accounting for the cost of goods, we still raised $5858! Below are some of my favorite images from the sessions. Enjoy!
